Ontario is a beautiful province; as a cottager, you know that. It is covered in lakes and wetlands, providing a place not only for us to build on, but also for a wide variety of species to call home. Ontario’s lake shore and wetland habitats provide humans with the resources to fish, swim and get in touch with nature. Yet without realizing it, our actions can have a huge impact on the other animals in the area. Our ideal cottage homes are actually located in important natural habitats, and disturbing these habitats can have serious consequences. One of the most majestic animals living here is the Great Blue Heron. This is one of the most beautiful and majestic birds in the wild, and yet human activities can cause serious problems for these and other species. As a cottager, you can help minimize the impact that humans have on the Great Blue Heron. It’s easier than you might think, and this blog will provide you with the power to make sustainable decisions.
